Seamless steel tubing is a kind of tubes consists of cylinders of metal, glass or plastic. It is used for transporting cum holding, gas & liquids. It is having a long narrow container that is having the opening at one ends that contains some material. They are made up from more than 20+ steel grades. High precision seamless steel tubes start their journey as seamless tube extrusions and ranges in different sizes. Every time we do reduction process, we have to cut as per need, cleaned & heated. Difference between Seamless over Welded tubing:
Seamless steel tubing is extruded & drawn from a billet. Besides this, the welded tube is produced from a strip that is roll formed & welded to produce a tube. Welded tube is having competitive pricing with respect to seamless tube & is readily available for long lengths.
The working pressure of welded tube is 20% less beside seamless tube. When we talk about potential impurities, which reduce the corrosion resistance of the finished tube. The weld area is considered to be inhomogeneous and exhibiting different malleability & less corrosion resistance as well as greater dimensional variations. Drawing welded tubes reduces these anomalies.
Most of the tubing either (seamless steel tubing & welded) is generally drawn to produce final dimensional tolerances. Drawing is one of the operations that will pull a tube through a die. There is various method for drawing a tube, however, they can be thought of as plug drawn or sunk drawn. Differences can be seen on the ID surface roughness.

PIERCING (ROTARY FORGING) METHOD:

TESTING AND FINISHING METHOD:
The state of the art finishing processes starts through the IFL (intermediate finishing line) include water blast scale removal, straightening, cutting, edgy testing ,ultrasonic tests, and dimensional gauging. It includes hardness, strength, & toughness & cleanness test, in order to meet client’s specification.
Generally the tubes are manufactured using seamless tubes & pipes are made up of hot rolling or hot extrusion & welded cum butt-welded pipe develop by bending the welding sheet / plates.
Production cycle of tubes kick start with extruded hollow tube or a sold drilled to our exacting specification. The material usually reduced the various cold working techniques until it reached onto specific size, tolerances and temper resistant with respect to customer requirement. After every cold working cycle the tubes get cut, cleaned & heat treated preparation by specialized team we employ multiple combination of value added steps to produce high quality tube to meet expected requirements of client.
Now we are going to share the brief cum informative understanding with respect to production life cycle process:
1. Pilgering: It reduce the size of the tube across thru 3 dimensional procedure – Outside Diameter (OD), Internal Diameter (ID), Wall thickness. Then roll a die set with tapered groove across the outside of tube and supporting the internal diameter using a taper matched hardened mandrel made up of steel.
2. Tube Rolling:
It provide compression to reduce the size of seamless tubes. Tube rolling utilized 1 or 2 set of rolls with constant cross section grooves with respect to circumference of the tube. It usually process to employs a cylindrical mandrel with no tamper. The rolls are driven by pinion rears and rack of differential radii along with profiled cams, completing multiple 360 degrees rotation around the tube.The Tube rolling is the method with precision of reducing a thin walled diameter tubes. It is followed by the final cold working style. We get the extensive exceptional control over the dimensional tolerance & surface finish with this rolling tactics. It is also minimize the material loss and improves the metal microstructure. Tube rolling is well versed to process unique metals like zirconium alloys and titanium.
3. Cold Drawing:
It reduces the actual diameter by stretching the tube using a die that is smaller than the required tube. Later on one end is swaged in order to fit the tube into the die, Thereby reducing the diameter of the leading end before drawing. Next the narrow end is passed through the die & clamped to a drawing trolley which usually pulls the tube thru the die. After drawing process the tag is cropped from the tube end prior to cleaning.
